yeah so branching was rly useful for exploring different narrative paths without losing ur original convo thread, its basically a form of counterfactual reasoning applied to conversational AI which sounds fancy but tbh its just "what if the character said this instead." i used to use it all the time on c ai when i wanted to test different responses to see which direction felt more natural for the story i was building.
